Ratio

In fishkeeping, ratio usually refers to the number of males to number of females. This is especially important with malawi cichlids as the males are extremely agressive both towards each other, and other females. Its generally accepted that 1m:3F is ideal, however it varies from species to species. Yellow Labs for example, are very tolerant, Melanochromis species however aren’t.
